December 3, 2025

Attack on Hunger proudly partnered once again with The Lady Tamales to give back to the community—this time by participating in Dayton High School’s Cultural Celebration. The event brought together students, families, and community members for an evening dedicated to honoring diversity through food, crafts, and cultural traditions.

The celebration featured informative and interactive displays highlighting countries and cultures including Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Japan, the Philippines, Africa, and Latin America. Attendees also enjoyed educational activities centered around Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and American Sign Language, offering meaningful learning experiences for all ages.

Families contributed homemade dishes such as pozole and German cider, creating a welcoming atmosphere rooted in shared traditions. Attack on Hunger served plates of tamales, rice, and beans—generously donated by The Lady Tamales—helping ensure that no one left hungry.

School administrators noted that the event had the highest turnout to date. Guests enjoyed delicious food and engaging activities while listening to live music and a festive holiday performance by Dayton High School’s choir students. The evening was a true celebration of culture, community, and connection

Attack on Hunger’s Javier Torres prepares to take on the task of serving 70+ meals to Dayton’s families.
